SERVICES
FERRY FLIGHTS
Most ferry services are one pilot; I manage a professional, supervised flight operation:
-
If I'm not acquainted with new pilots, I interview them, examine their credentials and experience, and talk to their references. Pilot Onboarding page
-
The client has the final approval in which pilot(s) are confirmed for a ferry mission.
I confirm the selected PIC's certificates and experience meet the requirements. While insurance sets minimum pilot experience levels, I prefer experience in excess of minimum which yields a substantial margin. If an SIC is required (or preferred by the client), the same rule applies.
Once I've made selection(s) and confirmed availability, the client is provided the pilot(s) information for review and approval.
-
Once airworthiness is established, flightcrews will finalize flight planning. In the event of complex or lengthy flight plans, I will assist in the detailed planning process. In all cases, basic planning information is submitted to me for approval prior to the commencement of any flight.
I conduct a detailed review of current and forecast weather, and NOTAMS. I examine flightcrew qualifications and aircraft capabilities when determining suitability. Both the flightcrew and I must agree the weather and facilities are suitable for the proposed leg of the flight.
When flights are underway, I provide flight following. I note takeoff and landing times, monitor real-time weather, and compare flight path with the filed flight plan (I require ICAO VFR or IFR flight plans to be filed and activated). Tracking is based on ADS-B, radar from Air Navigation Service Providers, and ACARS. If so-equipped, such as with ACARS or satellite phone, basic communication is available from me to the flightcrew.
-
Before and during flight activity, I'm on call to provide any assistance the flightcrew requires. Supplemental services include weather discussion, maintenance discrepancies, unscheduled required maintenance, hangar rental, assistance with lodging, and other related activities.
- I personally oversee every mission as Director of Operations
- Experienced, vetted flightcrew — no need to source your own pilots
- Real-time monitoring of flight progress, weather, and enroute issues
- Proactive operational support to catch and correct issues early
- Same level of care whether you’re moving a light piston or a transport-category aircraft
CONTAINER DELIVERY
I determine that container transport is optimal for the mission, and/or the customer requests a container quote.
I identify the port cities to be used, considering cost, availability, etc.
The method of moving the aircraft from its present location to the container-izer is determined. Ideally, the aircraft is airworthy and can be flown; if not it will need to be trucked to the container-izer.
Typically, my mission ends with delivery at the destination port. However, upon customer request I can add other services such as ground transportation in the destination country, and re-assembly.
For light aircraft. A low-cost and very safe alternative to a lengthy ferry flight.
